If you can’t be arsed to be annoying to WYD pilgrims, why not at least have a giggle at the OTT Happy-Clappiness of it all? You can probably boo Iemma as well.

A special World Youth Day heat of the Quest for the Best Open Mic contest - 12 young comics head to head, MC’ed by Josh Thomas (youngest ever winner of the Raw Comedy competition in 2005 aged only 17).

Sydney’s gone mad, and so has Lord Raglan. It’s Christmas in July, with Santa and Yuletide going head to head with the Pope and Mass at the racecourse. MC Peter Green, headliner Barry Hamilton, and a whole bunch of comics wrestling in tinsel for the July “Lord of Comedy” title.
  • Mic in Hand
Thursday 17th July, 8pm @ Friend in Hand Pub, 58 Cowper St, Glebe.
    $10 suggested donation, $8 students

Lineup - special guest The Pope (possibly in disguise), headliner Tommy Dean, MC Matthew Kenneally plus open mic
  • Scared Scriptless
